Many say they preach Christ and not doctrine. Others express that love unites and divides doctrine. Both statements, frequent nowadays generate confusion about the importance of doctrine, presenting it as contrary to effective preaching of the gospel and the enemy of unity that the Holy Spirit gives us the body of Christ. Is it possible that the doctrine of Christ really split?
"I preach Christ, not preach doctrine," many evangelicals believe establishing a wise statement. "Love unites, doctrine divides" and also expressed many pastors believe foster unity.
Lucas review that early Christians "devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching ..." (Acts 2:42). It then describes the daily life saying "those who believed were together" (v. 44), "continuing daily" (v. 45). "And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved" (v. 47).
Obviously, perseverance in the doctrine did not affect the unit, on the contrary, was a determining factor for maintaining it. Nor hindered the preaching, which was strong and effective.
What is the doctrine of the apostles? The word doctrine means teaching, therefore the doctrine of the apostles is the teaching that they gave them to the converted. Did not willingly but under order of the Lord, who commanded: "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" (Matt. 28:20).
The teaching of Jesus, the apostles transmitted, forms the foundation of the church, "built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with the chief cornerstone Jesus Christ himself" (Eph. 2:20). Therefore, the sound doctrine of Jesus is the essential unity of the church in Christ Jesus and his foundation. If the discard, destroy that unity and agrietamos the foundation of faith.
This doctrine is based on the gospel, with which we affirm that Christ is the Son of God-doctrine of the Incarnation, who shed his blood for our sins-doctrine of redemption-that we are saved by faith - doctrine of salvation, and so on. It is impossible to preach Christ without preaching his doctrine.
The Christian faith is not the result of human speculation, but of God's constant revelation. He has spoken in the Scriptures and have all his revelation to man. This is the most precious treasure of the Christian, the "sound doctrine of Jesus" to which we must adjust: "You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine." (Titus 2:1).
From healthy root adjective, applied the doctrine in Greek, comes our word hygiene, ie healthy, providing spiritual health. Therefore, the doctrine of the apostles is the basis for the spiritual health of the people of God.DOCTRINE OF MEN AND DEMONS
The Word of God warns us about other doctrines that are not of God. They are commandments and doctrines of men (Col. 2:22), and doctrines of devils (1 Tim. 4:1).
The doctrines of men were censored by the Lord, who for disqualifying quoted Isaiah: "In vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" (Mr. 7: 6,7). Men often make seemingly pious doctrines, but divisive and spiritual disease. The Pharisees and Sadducees were elaborate doctrines that Jesus called for its polluting effect yeast (Mt 16:6).
These human doctrines can infiltrate the church of God. We have the testimony of what happened in the church in Pergamum: "Have there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication. hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate "(Rev. 2:14-15).
In Colossae, where they intended to infiltrate human doctrines, believers receive the apostolic warning: "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men ... and not after Christ" (Col. 2:8). The apostle clearly states the difference between human-made doctrines and traditions of Christ.
The human doctrine may be permissive or restrictive. In the case of Balaam, who accepted and encouraged fornication, the doctrine was permissive, but was restrictive in Colossae: "Why, as though living in the world, do you submit to its rules:" Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch (in accordance with the commandments and doctrines of men) Which all are to perish with use? "(Col. 2:20-22).
False doctrine, restrictive or permissive, is always harmful and opens the way to debauchery or hypocrisy. The man made doctrines healthy but not diseased and contagious.
Also talk about doctrines of demons, warns them against the Apostle Paul to Timothy: "But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons" (1 Tim. 4:1 ). That doctrine infects human via the church, "the hypocrisy of liars ..." (v.2).
All these doctrines, EVEN dress of piety,Are contrary to the teaching of the Lord.
EFFECTS OF FALSE DOCTRINEFalse doctrine has a chilling effect on the lives of Christians and the church of God, so close attention should be paid, and take care of her when she looks: "I urge you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them "(Rom. 16:17). These doctrines cause divisions and offenses siblings progress of the spiritual life of the whole body of Christ.
It must, therefore, distinguish what is good sound doctrine of Jesus inspired by the Holy Spirit and false doctrine or man-made, inspired by Satan. So we have to be careful. When we say "love unites and divides doctrine" have to be precise: it is the doctrine that divides human cutting and inspiration diabolical.
Sound doctrine of Jesus, taught by the Lord and transmitted by the apostles, is from God. This was stated by Jesus when he said: "My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me" (John 7:16). This teaching can never be divisive, indeed, is the most important link of God's people.
When introducing false doctrine in the church, stops the building process and increase conflict, so it is that Satan likes to promote it, because it suits your purposes. In such cases, it is ordered to act with authority pastors, sending not expressly permit and instruct the people to the discard (1 Tim. 1:3).
The minister of God must feel the responsibility to preach what God commands in the knowledge that it is healthy for people. "If thou put the brethren, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine that you have followed" (1 Tim. 4:6). The care that we have of ourselves and of the doctrine spiritual will benefit all the people of God (1 Tim. 4:16).
A people fed with sound doctrine and firm matures, it remains fresh and can face without wavering, every wind of doctrine that shake ignorant and immature (Eph. 4:14).
How to know that a doctrine is sound? There is only one way: to refer to the Word of God. All the sound advice of God is revealed in it. If we obey, we will certainly be in sound doctrine. If our preaching is based on the Word of God are teaching sound doctrine.
The Scriptures are not to support our own ideas. True, many interpretations have been some plots in the people of God, but they are secondary issues and should not affect the Christian community ever. However, the doctrinal foundation must be firm.We must be unconditional in the Word of God, our doctrine must be clear and flowing directly from the Scriptures.TODAY, CAPTIVE everything new, and that produces great winds of new doctrines almost always false. So we have to be in constant vigil lest Satan disturbing teachings distressful enter the body of Christ.
The flood of new theological causes much confusion and allows the introduction of subtle heresies dressed as truths. To detect them we have to develop a healthy discernment. (Asking and giving examples)
Often we refuse to do so, and a reconciliation to the world-leading-to accept any opinion, seeps into the church. Christians must discern and reject firmly the error. We can not be tolerant or lenient with what Satan wants to introduce and fondle your heart to destroy the body of Christ.
We must not be evil-minded, BECAUSE end up seeing ghosts where there are none, nor naive, WHY would end up denying reality. FALSE TEACHERS among us, and false doctrine always slapping at our door.
Remember the exhortation of the apostle to the Ephesian elders: "And of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things ... Therefore watch" (Acts 20:30-31). It is naive to think that Satan has lost his infection, but he continues to act in the same way.
Every Christian should, therefore, ensure to keep the enemy achieve their nefarious goals concrete infect through including your own family or people close to you just remember the warning: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world "(1 Jn. 4:1).
Christianity has served more than 2000 years of history. In this long period has had to sustain hard struggles against heresy and apostasy, differentiate between truth and error and maintain sound doctrine of Jesus. After such a long journey seduction seems that the error should have decreased, and the antibodies worked.
Will we discuss what we discussed at length in the past? Perhaps, do not learn from the experiences? Strangely, many of the doctrines condemned in the past resurface again today and harm the unwary.
Our time is particularly prone to generate increasingly unhealthy doctrines, heretical and apostate. No wonder: "But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons" (1 Tim. 4:1);"Because times will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers after their own lusts" (2 Tim. 4:3).
Postmodernism daily proclaims to the doctrines, and tries to build the future without considering the past. Proposes a jump to discard the historical. It infiltrates the church, leading to belittle sound doctrine grounded in the Word of God.
Rebels spiritual, not supporting sound doctrine because they find it annoying, are grouped together to unleash their sensuality, and subtly satanic attack doctrine from the Lord and the apostles.
To this we must add the preaching constantly bombarding us, pretending that we are increasingly permissive. This makes Satan win the battle. So try to undermine our resilience and determination.
There are Christians who believe that if they object to the error or not have a tolerant attitude, are behind the sound doctrine of Jesus commands us to embrace the sinner but not the sin, so together we pray Perque and tie existing sin and be sealed with the Santoy Spirit and begin feeding through sound doctrine that is going to be totally free.
"Buy the truth, and sell it not" (Prov. 23:23), says the sage.
Clinging to biblical truth not stay in the past, is located in eternity, because the sound doctrine of the apostles is not old, is eternal.
IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE LORD JESUS proclaim this truth to our generation AND THE UPCOMING, at any price.
