CHRISTIAN LIFE GUIDED BY
THE HOLY SPIRIT
(John
14:15-17) "15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may
abide with you forever-17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world can not receive,
because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him, because
dwelleth with you
and shall be in you. "The
Spirit, like fire, melts the heart, burns the dross, and turn pious and devout
affections in the soul, which, like the fire of the altar, the spiritual
sacrifices are offered that are our very lives as a living sacrifice for our
God. The
apostles were filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit had miraculous powers for
the advancement of the sound doctrine of Christ, this is the gospel that Jesus
left us. The
apostles spoke, not of thoughts or previous meditations, but as the Spirit gave
them utterance.
The
Church knows that she was born in the Resurrection of Christ, but is confirmed
by the coming of the Holy Spirit. It
is until then that the Apostles understand just what were called by Jesus to
which were prepared during the three years of living intimately with Him
Pentecost is like the "anniversary" of the Church. The
Holy Spirit descends upon rising and fearful that community, instilling upon her
his seven gifts, giving them the courage to announce the Sound Doctrine of
Christ That Is The Good News of Jesus to preserve in the truth, as Jesus had
promised (Jn 14:15)
"If ye love me, keep my commandments", to arrange to be his witnesses, to go,
baptize, and teach all nations.
It
is the Holy Spirit, more than two thousand years now, continues to fall on those
who believe that Christ came, died, rose again and is at the right hand of God
the Father pleading for us, about who we know we are part and continuation of
that small
community now spread over many places, about whom we know we are responsible for
continuing to extend his Kingdom of love, justice, truth and peace among men,
women, youth, children and elderly wherever Christ has placed us, to make your
will.For
forty days after his resurrection, Jesus was with his disciples. He
was more than five hundred people who saw it firsthand.
Surely,
the disciples were very happy to have with them to their beloved Master.
They
thought, after his death, that he had lost forever. Now he was alive! However, I
started to say that he would have to go. How would take it? Of
course, were puzzled face the possibility that their Master
retired.However, Jesus had
said something surprising. To
his disciples he said: (John 16:7) "I agree that I go away, for if I do, the
Comforter will not come to you, whereas if I go, I will send it to you."
Although
I would miss, it was better to leave. Why?
Because it
would be another to take his place.
Who would take the place of Jesus?
Who would take his place?
Only one who was God. It should be one that is
a person too. The Holy
Spirit is not a force. Nor is it a
ghost. A
person, who is God with the Father and the Son and that Jesus was sent and also
the Holy Spirit was sent by the Lord God.Where is the father now? She's in heaven. Where is the Son? It is seated at the right hand
of God. The
way in which God is present with us is through His Spirit. God
himself had spoken through his prophets in the time of fulfillment pour out His
Spirit upon all sorts of people, not only on the servers of the people.
Now
Jesus had finished His work of redemption, it was time to take the next
step.
Let
us, then, to (Acts 1:1-5), and read the first five verses: "1 The former
treatise, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began to do and teach, 2 until the day
He
was taken up, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles
whom he had chosen: 3 To whom also, having shewed himself alive with many
convincing proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the
kingdom of God . 4
And while staying with them he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but
wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5
For John baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not
many days. John
the Baptist had baptized people in water as a sign of repentance, but now Jesus
would baptize with the Holy Spirit. "
Let
us now read verses (Acts 1:6-11) "6 When they had gathered asked him, saying:
Lord, You are restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time? 7
And he said unto them for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put
in His own authority; 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit upon
you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the
ends of the earth. 9
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up, and a
cloud received him out of their sight. 10
And while they looked steadfastly into the sky as he went up, behold, stood by
them two men in white apparel, 11 who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye
gazing up into heaven? This
same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come as you have
seen him go into heaven ".The
disciples want to know about restoring the kingdom to Israel, but Jesus tells
them that's not important now. We
want to know all the details of God's prophetic plan, but the Lord has not
revealed the dates and hours. Now
there is nothing more important - the coming of the Holy Spirit. There are three important details
here. First,
the coming of the Holy Spirit would bring something better. Although
it was great to have Jesus there present with them, the coming of the Holy
Spirit, and as Holy Person Brings Blessings different as the revelation of the
Father of what is written and inspired by the Holy Spirit, and He distributes
the gifts as He wills .
Have
you ever thought it would be wonderful to see Jesus Christ in the flesh?
One day you will
see, and be glorious. However,
we have the presence of His Holy Spirit in us, preparing us for that glorious
moment. The presence
of the Holy Spirit in us is a good thing. It is not something to fear
or to cause fear.Secondly,
the coming of the Holy Spirit would bring power. The
presence of the Holy Spirit in every believer in Jesus Christ is the source of
supernatural power. There
are many believers who have not learned to let that power be manifested in their
lives, but this does not mean that power is not present. The
fact that the lights are off in the house does not necessarily mean that there
is no electricity.Third,
the power that brings the Holy Spirit is primarily able to testify. There
are many other wonderful things the Holy Spirit does in us, enlightens us,
convicts us, comforts us, heals us - all these things are very special.
However,
when Jesus promises his disciples that they would receive the Holy Spirit, He
does not mention any of these things. It only mentions the power to
witness.
Many
people ask: When I am baptized in the Holy Spirit? When does The my life? The Bible is very
clear on the Sound Doctrine of Christ. If
we have become believers in Christ, have been baptized in the Holy Spirit.
First
(1 Corinthians 12:13) says it very clearly: "For by one Spirit are we all
baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free-and we
were all made to drink into one Spirit." If
we have received Christ, and thus become part of your body, have been baptized
in the Holy Spirit. However, for the
disciples, it was different. His
baptism in the Holy Spirit came after they had come to believe in Jesus Christ.
This
is due to the place they occupied in the history of salvation, the Holy Spirit
came to fill the Church, so that all who received him at the same
time.Let's
see how it happened, reading (Acts 2:1-8) "1 When the day of Pentecost, they
were all together. 2
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it
filled all the house where they were sitting, 3 And there appeared unto them
cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other
tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5
Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under
heaven. 6
And at this sound the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that
every man heard them speak in his own language. 7
And they were all amazed and marveled, saying, Behold, are not all these which
speak Galileans? 8
How do therefore hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
".
Where were the
disciples? Verse
2 says they were in a house, but sometimes the temple is called a house in the
book of Acts. It
would be logical, then, to assume that they were in a room of the temple, it
would explain why so many people so quickly met when they began to speak in
tongues. To
announce the arrival of the Holy Spirit, there was a big gust of wind, and saw
flames of fire on the heads of each of the followers of Jesus. The
wind represents the Holy Spirit, for He is invisible as the wind, but its
effects are visible and palpable. The
fire brings purification, and the Spirit of God brings holiness to the people
that He fills.
At
the same time, they were baptized by the Holy Spirit, and were filled with the
Holy Spirit. We said verse 4.
For
the apostles, the baptism with the Holy Spirit and the filling of the Holy
Spirit happened at the same time. However, to us, may
be different.We
have already mentioned that we are baptized with the Holy Spirit at the time to
believe in Christ. In
contrast, (Ephesians 5:18-20) tells us to be filled with the Holy Spirit: "18 Do
not be drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit, 19
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts, 20 giving thanks
always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ. "We
are baptized with the Holy Spirit at the time to believe in Christ, and probably
will not see the same evidence that they were on that day. The truth is we
can not control the Holy Spirit. He moves as He wills. However, we
can prepare our lives for your move. We can also hinder His
work in us. If
we have sin in our lives, if we walk separate from God or no God actively seek,
it is unlikely that the Spirit fills us with power. But
if we confess any sin that God brings to our attention and we leave, if we spend
time with God and if we ask that your Spirit to fill us and prepare us for the
fullness of the Spirit.
The
gifts of the Spirit are different, so we should not think that all speak in
tongues when the Holy Spirit fills. However,
what we can know is that He will bring a new power. The
results of the infilling of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost were amazing.
The
apostle Peter, the one who had been so afraid of the night Jesus was betrayed he
had denied his Lord, now stood before thousands of people and preached the Word
of God. Powerfully
called his listeners to recognize that Jesus is the Savior, the Messiah sent by
God. Now
read the last part of your message, in (Acts 2: 36-41) "36 Know, then, let all
the house of Israel, that this Jesus, whom you crucified, God has made Lord and
Christ. 37
On hearing this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other
apostles, 'Brothers, what shall we do? 38
Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Spirit. 39
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off,
as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves
from this perverse generation. 41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and there were added that
day about three thousand souls ".
With
power, the Holy Spirit moved in the hearts of the hearers of Peter, and were
convinced of their sin. You
know, when you share the gospel with someone, does not touch you convince.
The Holy Spirit does that.
Peter
simply was obedient, and the Holy Spirit used. The
result of Peter's preaching was that the Church of Christ was founded with more
than 3,000 members in its first day. And
the promise is this: every person who repents and believes in Jesus as Lord and
Savior - a decision that is sealed with water baptism - receive the same Holy
Spirit that the apostles received at Pentecost. If
you're looking for the power the Holy Spirit gives you, the first thing
necessary is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If
you accept it, the Holy Spirit will come and dwell in your heart. Not
necessarily expect to hear a sound or feel something special when He comes, many
big believers have not felt anything when the Holy Spirit came into their
lives.
If
you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, are you allowing the
Holy Spirit to fill you? He is in
your heart. God wants to
surprise you with the power of his Spirit. I
want to challenge you personally - and I want to challenge us as a church - to
begin to expect the Spirit to move among us.How many
things do in reliance on the Holy Spirit? The is the fuel that moves the
Church! But
many times, we have so much activity that is merely human. Learn
to depend on the Holy Spirit, and expect Him to do amazing new
things.
If
you are willing to invite the Holy Spirit to move in your life in a new way, I
invite you to note that decision later this morning. The
Holy Spirit is sensitive, so you should take a moment to apologize for not
listening to his voice before. Then invite them to take
the wheel of your life. If you want to make that
decision, do it now.
The Holy Spirit and the Christian
Life
From
Baptism, the divine Spirit dwells in the Christian and in his temple (Rom
8:9-11) "9 But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God
dwells in you. And if any man
have not the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10
And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is
alive because of righteousness. 11
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who
raised Christ Jesus from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his
Spirit that dwelleth in you, "(1 Cor 3:16)" Do not know
that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? ", (Rom 8:9)" But
ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in you.
And if any man
have not the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. " Thanks
to the power of the indwelling Spirit, the Father and the Son come to dwell also
in each of us.
THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS
THAT:1. rises and
assimilates us to God in our being and in our actions; Two. allows us to
know and love him;Three. makes
us open to the divine persons and to stay in us.
The
Christian life is a spiritual existence, a life animated and guided by the
Spirit of holiness or perfection of charity. Thanks
to the Holy Spirit and guided by Him, the Christian has the strength to fight
against all that opposes God's will. (Gal
5:13-18) "13 For, brethren, were called to freedom, only use not liberty for an
occasion to the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14
For all the law is fulfilled in one word: You shall love your neighbor as
yourself. 15
But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of
another. 16
I say then, Walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and
these are contrary to one another, to not do what you want. 18 But
if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. "
(Rom
8:5-17) "5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh,
but those who are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and
peace. 7
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law
of God, neither indeed can be 8 and those who are in the flesh can not please
God. 9
But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in
you. And if any man
have not the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10
And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is
alive because of righteousness. 11
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who
raised Christ Jesus from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his
Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the
flesh-13 for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if by the Spirit you
put to death the deeds of the body you will live. 14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received
the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father! 16
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.
17
And if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed
we suffer with Him, that we may be glorified with him. "
For
the Christian to fight, the Holy Spirit gives him his seven gifts, which are
permanent dispositions which make man docile in following the promptings of the
Spirit, these gifts are:
1) Wisdom
tells us a taste for the things of God.2)
Science: teaches us to give to earthly things its true value.3)
Tip: it helps us resolve conflicts Christian judgment of life.4)
Piety: teaches us to relate to God as our Father and with our
brothers.5)
Fear of God leads us to turn away from anything that might offend
God.6)
Understanding: it gives us a deeper understanding of the truths of
faith.7)
Strength: boldness awakened in us that drives us to the apostolate and helps us
overcome the fear of defending the rights of God and of
others.
EXPERIENCES
OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN LIFE WHEN YOU REPRESENT EVIDENCE:1)
When there is a total hope prevails over all other private hopes, covering with
its softness and its silent promise all the foundations and all
falls.2)
When freely accepts and takes responsibility where no prospects for success are
clear and useful;3)
When good is given as the sum of all accounts of life that one can not calculate
it but has given Another good, but can not be proven;4)
When the fragmented experience of love, beauty and joy are captured live simply
and as a promise of love, beauty and joy, without doubt a cynical skepticism
cheap consolation last grief;5)
When the daily life, bitter, disappointing and annihilating you live with
serenity and perseverance to the end, accepted by a force whose origin we can
not cover or dominate;6)
When you run the risk of praying in silent darkness through knowing that we are
always listened to, though not perceive a response that can reason and
dispute;7)
When you surrender surrender unconditionally and this is experienced as a
victory;8)
When experiencing despair, and mysteriously feels comforted inconsolable easy:
There is God and His liberating grace, there know who we Christians call God's
Holy Spirit.
Prayer:The
wise man knows that he needs light in their intelligence and strength in their
willingness to think and do what God wants. That
light and that strength only comes from above, it is the Holy Spirit who
provides the Christian with everything you need for your journey through life.
So every
day we should invoke it.
Come, Divine Spirit,
send your light from the sky. Loving
Father Jehovah God Blessed the poor; Grande in your gifts splendid light
penetrate souls largest source of consolation. Come,
sweet Lord God of our soul, rest of our effort; break in the hard work, breeze
in the hours of fire wipes tears joy and comfort in duels. Get
to the bottom of our souls, Divine Light, and enrich us. Look
at the emptiness of man if thou fouls inside, look at the power of sin when you
do not send your breath. Water
the soil in drought, heals the heart sick, wash the stains, heat infuses life in
the ice. Dressage
indomitable spirit guides the twisting path. Spread seven gifts
according to the faith of your servants. For
your goodness and your grace, give the effort their merit; saves seeking
salvation and give us your eternal joy. AMEN.
