Doctrine of Christ against the traditions

Lerma, Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012
Doctrine of Christ against the traditions(Mt.15 :1-9) "1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees of Jerusalem, saying, 2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? They do not wash their hands when they eat bread. 3 He answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, He who curses father or mother must be put to death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift to God anything that could help, 6 and honor not his father or his mother. Thus have ye made the commandment of God by your tradition. 7 Ye hypocrites, well Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. "
INTRODUCTIONAs Jesus went about preaching and teaching, often clashed with religious leaders on the issue of maintaining traditions ...For example, on Saturday glean - Mt 12:1-8For example, healing on the Sabbath - Matthew 12:9-14For example, eating with unwashed hands - Mt 15:1-9(Mark 7:3) "For the Pharisees and all the Jews, holding the tradition of the elders, if you often do not wash their hands, do not eat."
In Matthew 15:1-9, Jesus describes the danger of traditions with an open ... How keeping them can be invalidated them as the commandments of God can keep our worship to God is vain.
Traditions are very important in some religions ... In the Roman Catholic Church, the tradition is placed on a par with the Word of God."It is an article of faith by a decree of the Vatican Council that tradition is a source of different theological teaching of the Scriptures, and that it is infallible. Then it is to be received with the same consent of Scripture, because it is the word of God. "" You must believe in Tradition? Yes, it is the Word of God and has equal authority with the Bible. "
They do not understand in these churches full of traditions is that it is the Holy Spirit who reveals so many different doctrines that keep them in error, moved by sheer enthusiasm and highly motivated with lots of emotions and keeps them bound prisoners of false doctrines men because if it was the Holy Spirit to keep us all together in the same doctrine of Christ as the Holy Spirit and the scriptures were inspired throughout the Biblical context keeps us steadfast in the only doctrine that is Christ, look what they say these passages:(2 John 1:9) "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God: he that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son."(Philippians 1:27,28) "27 Only let your manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of you that you stand firm in one spirit, striving together for the faith of the gospel, 28 and in nothing terrified by those opposed, that to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. "(Ephesians 2:17-18) "17 And came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father ".(1 Corinthians 12:13) "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free-and we were all made to drink into one Spirit."
Some Protestant churches have their own traditions even when claiming to have the truth of Christ and not in accordance with their own traditions and also put world traditions in temples, even when they know that Jesus Christ bother the moneychangers and the temples are full of them: ( John. 2:13-17) "13 Now the Passover of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, 14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers. 15 And making a whip of cords, and drove all from the temple, and the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; 16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise. 17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for your house consumes me. "
Such traditions are very common in many congregations and are accepted by the congregants because they are so well disguised by good intentions just as the old money changers had to sell sacrificial animals have changed and now only sheep, doves, oxen , etc. For objects that by the time we live in are different but equal to becoming the house of the LORD God of prayer into a den of thieves. Distinguished between denominations. And to be a member of a particular denomination, one must accept their traditions, even though the Word says (Colossians 2:8) "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, according the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. "
In this sermon, I will answer the following questions ... What are the traditions? Are the traditions are always wrong? If not, what does a tradition become sinful?
I. Meaning "TRADITION"
It is a Greek word that means "giving" or "transmitting" and refers to teaching or doctrine that is transmitted either by word (orally) or written.
UNDERSTOOD HOW "tradition" for Jews ...? Well was often applied to the oral teachings of the elders (distinguished elders from Moses onwards) and of course believed by every listener, and how not to believe? If that was supposed to come today and holy men dedicated to the Holy Word of Jehovah God, but it turns out that these same holy men were and are those who brought traditions and half-truths that we are doing so much damage and in this time of apostasy which unfortunately is the cause of birth so many false doctrines that are dragging millions of believers who believe they follow Christ Jesus, but the truth is far from many congregations grounded in truths, deceived by the spirit deception, enjoying a much misunderstood Grace grating in debauchery and sin with the understanding dull as the Word of God (2 Corinthians 3:14-16) "14 But their minds were made dull, for to today, when they read the old covenant, remaineth the same veil, which is removed by Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. 16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. "
TRADITIONS WERE AND ARE WAYS TO DIVIDE THE BODY OF CHRISTSome oral laws supposedly given by Moses in addition to written laws, they interpret his understanding dull and of course these interpretations lead them into error.(Revelation 22:19) "And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city and from the things which are written in this book."(Galatians 1:6-9) "6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel. 7 Which is not another, but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel than that ye have received, let him be accursed. "
Interpretations of rabbis, and highly respected Dr. in Theology and now they were no degrees in theology that are revered throughout the Scriptures of the Old Testament and now still dragging behind him to millions who lack knowledge because they do not search the scriptures. (Hosea 4:6) "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being priest thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. "
Today we know that Jesus is constantly facing and resisting religious leaders on this day, those who feel threatened by the influence and teachings of JESUS CHRIST DOCTRINE. The effect of the traditions, however, are hiding the truth of God, and even go against their truth. Human traditions can hide the divine truth.
We must recognize this reality. For this reason, we can not get carried away blindly by tradition we have received. Rather, we have to examine them in the light of the Word of God. This was the mistake that the Pharisees allowed their traditions take precedence over the Word of God, rather than allow the Word of God and change their traditions criticized. I wonder fall into the same trap as them? The devil has a main weapon he uses to defeat and destroy humanity. With this weapon, it splits families and destroys lives. It is a highly lethal weapon. What is this weapon? It's a lie. The Bible gives the devil as the "father of lies".
Lying is their main weapon to deceive mankind and away from God. It is possible that you are living deceived by the lies of the enemy. While facing the truth hurts and it, is much better than the alternative. Be honest before God, and ask Him to help you see the ways that you've left blinded by the lies.Jesus said: "You will know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). Taking this statement as a starting point, I proceed to examine various lies that the enemy uses to blind us, and compare them with the biblical truth that sets us free. I encourage you to take this opportunity to consider their own thinking, analyzing it in light and taking biblical truth of the Bible in the place of Satan's lies. They can do this by performing the daily readings carefully. If we keep the truth in our hearts, we will be free.
Before his conversion, Paul was a staunch supporter of Jewish traditions (Galatians 1:13,14) "13 For ye have heard of my former manner of life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God, and the wasted it 14 and in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. "(Acts 26:4,5) "4 My life then from my youth, which from the beginning I was in my nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews; 5 which I also know from the beginning if willing to testify, according to the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee. "
Example: The word of God teaches us that men and women should not live together or have sex unless they are married. Otherwise, living in disobedience to the Word of God. However, there are many couples who disobey this commandment and live in sin. What should the couple do in this situation? Clearly, you must repent and marry, not to live in sin. Our God is a God of mercy, and if someone repents and seeks change of heart, God forgives and restores the person.Fornication is a sin, but it is unforgivable. Requires repentance. However, I see many couples is that they have a cultural tradition of having a large and expensive wedding. The couple did not have the funds for a big celebration, so keep living in sin because he can not follow the tradition. Would not it be better to have a simple wedding, and fulfill what God tells us in His Word? Of course! This is what God wants. However, for its tradition of a wedding expensive, people put aside what God wants and still living in disobedience. They're like descendants of the Pharisees.Human traditions can lead us to disobey God. Therefore it is very important to put first the Word of God, and obey what He tells us in her. How do we show our love for God? They show it by obeying what He says. If we do not obey His Word, then we are not loving. We have to be sure that our tradition will not obstruct our obedience to the Word.In Christ are all the riches of the wisdom of God. In Christ we find God's perfect justice and perfect mercy. In Christ is the perfect explanation of God's will for our lives. In Christ we find what our soul longs. This is why it is so sad to cling to tradition rather than cling to Christ. We changed the most precious blessing that God has given us something sterile and meaningless. The tradition seems to give us security. It gives us direction, but it may be a fake address. Do not base your life on the tradition. Rather, submit it to Christ. Only here you will find what you've always wanted.
In fact, you're supposed to take your word for these "traditions" were truly from God and had been faithfully transmitted, and the proof is that all our families have practiced for many generations, and the same has happened with many ways to cook food, if we have four or more generations and we asked them why food preparation that? And even some home remedies: The answer is almost always the same as * I do not know so just know that my mother taught me *
SCRIPTURES SAY ABOUT TRADITIONThe word "tradition" as such is not found in the Old Testament is instead thirteen times in the New Testament and three times refers to "apostolic teaching" which had been given by the apostles (1 Corinthians 11:2 ) "I praise you, because all you remember me, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered." Whether by word (in person) or by letter (2 Thessalonians 2:15) "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word, or our epistle." Which was expected to keep Christians (2 Thessalonians 3:6) "Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us ".
Ten times refers to "the tradition of the elders" or "traditions of men" As in our text and in the parallel passages (Matthew 15:2-6, Mark 7:3-13). And of which Paul warned the Colossians (Colossians 2:8) "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Of which the Jewish Christians were released (including Paul) (1 Peter 1:18, Galatians 1:14) "18 knowing that you were redeemed from the empty way of life received by tradition from your fathers, not with perishable things such as gold or silver, 14 and in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. "Jesus did not feel bound to comply with "the traditions of the elders" He had no trouble keeping some traditions such as going to a wedding feast as it says in this passage (John 2:1-2) "1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and was there the mother of Jesus. 2 And they were also invited to the wedding Jesus and his disciples. "Not all "traditions" are wrong. When they are taught inspired by God, given and "written" by men approved by God, are to be paid attention. But when doctrines or interpretations are handled by uninspired men, they are suspected as the traditions of the Jews. As soon as we return to our text (Mt 15:1-9), Jesus says: "Mat 1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees of Jerusalem, saying, 2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? "
THE DANGER OF THE TRADITIONS OF MEN
MAY VOID THE WORD OF GOD ...Jesus set the example of honor towards parents (Mt 15:3-6) "3 He answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, He who curses father or mother must be put to death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift to God anything that could help, 6 and honor not his father or his mother. Thus have ye made the commandment of God by your tradition. "
The tradition of the elders give the church taught and freed of giving their parents, this interpretation of the commandment of God expunged. There are traditions of men today similarly affecting, as the practice of sprinkling for baptism, a tradition of men, and when someone holds the tradition of sprinkling, they make God's command to be baptized (immersed) no take effect! Through keeping such traditions, then someone is rejecting the commandment of God! (Mark 7:8-9) "8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such things you do. 9 I said well ye reject the commandment of God to keep your tradition. "
Traditions can lead us to a vain worshipWhen the traditions of men are taught to the same level as the commandments of God, guide vain worship (Matthew 15:9) "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Such worship may appear and be impressive, but in reality is "hollow, worthless" First, because God did not send, second, because it violates the good we really need (Colossians 2:20-23) "20 For if ye dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch 22 (in accordance with the commandments and doctrines of men) Which all are to perish with use? 23 Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence. "
TRADITIONS may lead a hypocritical worshipThe traditions of men tend to rites (just observe the rites found in many religions that have no scriptural basis) Such rites are often made repeatedly, with a very poor idea as to its origin and purpose. It's easy to go through such rites, with heart and mind on other things, Worship without the heart (or mind) is a hypocritical worship! (Matthew 15:7-8) "7 hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me."
CONCLUSIONWhat are the traditions? They are simply lessons that have been handled. For men inspired (like the apostles) given personally or through his writings, are good and should be followed. For oral transmissions, given by means of a chain of inspired men traditions are most suspect.Jesus did not keep the "traditions" transmitted orally by the Jews on par with the Word of God written. Neither we must maintain the "traditions" transmitted orally by Christians on a par with the Word of God written. In the worst case, the traditions of men can be vain and deadly. When their observance leads one not to stay in a commandment of God.When taught as doctrines, above the Word of God.When we guide the rituals, made without encouraging the heart and mind of man.In the words of Jesus, we are guided to be prevented from "The Danger of Traditions", and we ensure that our faith and practice are based on the written word of God, not the interpretations and teachings of uninspired men!
