A CAESAR WHAT IS CAESAR , AND GOD IS GOD

A CAESAR WHAT IS CAESAR , AND GOD IS GOD

On one occasion , Jesus' enemies thought trap with a trick question. They asked if it was okay to pay taxes to the Roman emperor . The trap containing the question was this . If Jesus had said yes to pay taxes , lose their support among the common people . For them, the Roman government had no right to rule . Moreover, if Jesus said no one had to pay taxes , they could accuse him before the authorities of provoking rebellion among the people, telling them not to fulfill their civic duties . They thoughthe'd been set the perfect trap Jesus!

Now, I'm sure we'd all love if Jesus had said no need to pay taxes. But this is not what he did. He called for a coin, and then asked who the portrait wearing . When told that this was the emperor, Caesar , He said ( Luke 20:25 ) " He said to them , Render therefore unto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's" .

A very wise answer ! Now if we do not pay our taxes , there are consequences , is not it ? We may be in serious legal trouble . But what are the consequences of not giving God what belongs to Him? Will there be consequences? By studying the Word of God, we discover that there are consequences when we do not give God what belongs to him.

To find out what they are, we open the Bible (Malachi 3:6-12 ) " 6 For I the Lord do not change; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed . 7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances , and have not kept them . Return unto me , and I will return unto you , saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return ? 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me . And ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee ? In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse: for ye whole nation , rob me. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith , saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes , and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground , neither shall your vine in the field , saith the Lord of hosts . 12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye land, saith the Lord of hosts . "

The Doctrine of Christ through the prophet Malachi wrote to an indifferent and slothful . Years before , God had done something great to bring them back to earth after the exile . But they had run the initial excitement of being back in the promised land, and had fallen into a religious routine .

They followed the customs that their parents had taught them , to give alms to God or whatever you bring some spare change in your pocket and all this is done by halves. Attending prayer house of our God , but only by compromise , brought their offerings sacrifices damaged and imperfect . It is so easy to fall into the same trap that they fell . I've seen it in my own life .

We comply with the great things God has done in the past , rather than surrender to Jesus Christ at one hundred percent and expect bigger things for our future. This commitment also looked lackluster in their finances. They knew what God expected of them, but found it difficult to give . They believed that if they gave the tithe , nothing else was going to achieve. What they failed to understand was that they lacked money precisely because God did not give it deserves.

The first thing we 're going to take from this passage is the following : Fidelity in finance demonstrates obedience and faith. In verses 6 and 7 , we see a comparison between God's faithfulness and unfaithfulness of his people. God does not change , He has kept His promise to Abraham, and to this day , the people of Israel who are you and me that before were not a people but thanks to Jesus Christ and we are now in existence. God is faithful !

We, however , tend to be very fickle. It is not new , the human race has always been so. But the Lord God says : " Return to me , and I will return to you." Not late. We have failed , we have been disobedient , and have brought about our life , family and church the consequences. Buttoday is the day to change ! Today is the day to reconsider !

Otherwise, says God , we are stealing . " What are we to return ? " - Ask the people. In other words , how have we failed? In what sense have not believed ? What was our fault ? The answer comes , chilling and honest : You are robbing God .

Think for a while. Nobody would steal a person knowing they will realize . Pickpockets rob their victims when they are distracted . The scammer lures his victims to not understand what is happening . He who steals money from his employer does secretly , so that no one will notice .

If we happen to rob God , then, would have to be because we think that He is not going to notice . There is no other explanation! If we come to understand , based on the Bible , that the tithe belongs to God , and do not give it , is simply a lack of faith in Him This is disobedience.

It is very important that you and I understand this . Tithing is not something we take when we feel that the church needs help. It's not something we take only when we have money left over . It's not something we take when we did well , and we are especially grateful to God .

Tithing is an act of obedience to God , and is an act of faith in God. It is an act of faith , because when you separate yourself from your income every week to ten percent , you're telling God that you trust Him to otherwise reach. But when you do , and your actions will say that you believe that He is not able to meet your needs .

Let me give you an illustration : If I were to ask why do not tithe ? Many would answer me very laboriously reaches them what they have and if tithe will be in worse condition they do not have much right? Well, if I told each

one of you , promising that if tithe as it should be and not enough then just tell me and I 'll give them what they lack , to complete their week or fortnight What do you think ? Is not that so yes decimate ? Surely accept .
Now asked this: If they are willing to trust me , why are not willing to trust God ? To you who do not tithe , you ask the same question : why are not willing to trust God ? Why not think Jehovah God can make reaching your salary? Tithing is a reflection of your faith and commitment to God .

But there is more . The second thing we discovered in this passage is the following: Fidelity in finance brings blessing . For starters, God says that all are under punishment because they have failed to bring the tithes . That's why their crops are ruined , or their salary is not enough .

However, God says " test me in this, and see if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you " . This is the only time in the Bible in which God tells us to put Him to the test. Other passages tell us that we put to the test, but here is an exception Jehovah God , Jehovah God invites us to prove in the area of giving . If we start with discipline and honesty to the Lord God promises to pour out blessings upon us.

However, there are people who say that this promise is not for us. They say that tithing is only part of the Old Testament that are no longer under that obligation. Certainly there are many aspects of the law of the Old Testament that have been fulfilled in Jesus , and we are no longer under obligation to obey.

In each of these cases , there are clear passages in the New Testament to show that no longer apply to us . For example , in terms of food , ( Mark 7:19 ) Jesus says clearly that all clean declared : " Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly , and out into the draft ? Thus he declared all clean food " . We no longer observe these laws.

But about tithing , the opposite happens . When Jesus spoke of tithing (Matthew 23:23) , made it clear that we should not neglect : "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees , hypocrites ! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law : justice and mercy and faith. You should have practiced , without neglecting the former . "

Sound Doctrine of Christ through the apostle Paul also makes it clear that he expects all members to give , and to do so with joy. ( 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 ) " 6 Remember this : Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver . 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you , so that always having all sufficiency in everything , may abound to every good work. "

Therefore, this promise is still applicable to us , because we are still under the responsibility of giving the Lord God ten percent. God still promises us that if we are faithful in that Jehovah God will bless us in a boundless .

It will be so much that even other recognize it, as it says ( Malachi 3:12) " And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye land, saith the Lord of hosts ."

I want to give another illustration about tithing . Let's think about that You promise to the Lord God will give the tithe . And think , you are earning the minimum 600 pesos a week , and your tithe would be $ 60 . A few years by the faithfulness of the Lord God your income will have risen dramatically , to the point that you tithe now is $ 600 a week. By accounts , we realize that you will be earning $ 6000 per week. Surely I 'd call and preguntarías
Pastor, there would be no way to get out of my commitment to tithe , it is costing me a lot of money . As a pastor I have this response : "I see no way you're out of your commitment , but if you want, what you can do is ask God to your income down to again earn $ 600 per week. Thus would have no problem in giving your $ 60 pesos. "

We laughed at the story , but not so often think ? Lord God blesses us , but we forget that it was Jehovah God who blessed us . We weighs be faithful to Jehovah God.

( 1 Chronicles 29:14 ) " But who am I, and what is my people, that we could offer willingly ? Everything comes from you , and from Thy hand what we give . "

" I have tried all my life to keep things in my hands and I lost all but everything I've put into the hands of Jehovah God still possess. "

Today , we talked about the tithe. I want to invite you now to make a commitment before the Lord God to be faithful in this area. Say you want to show your faith in Jehovah God , and be obedient . Tell him to trust his promise to bless . Jehovah God is faithful .
